I love falafel. I never make it though. Simply because I think it takes too long. When in fact it's one of the easiest foods to make ever (as long as you soak the chickpeas the night before). You don't even have to precook the chickpeas! Just load everything into the quisenart and blend away. Then you just fry away in some nice oil. This was from a recipe that I found in the New York Times food pages a month or two ago and has just been hanging on the door of our fridge waiting oh so patiently to be made. It's a pretty good recipe but I believe it needs some extra spice or something like that. It made so many that if Peter's mom was here she would say "We need to have a falafel sale!" I don't think she's ever eaten falafel let alone knows what it is. But when she makes a ton of some sorta food she's alway's having a "sale". Its hysterical.
I plopped the falafel onto mesclun greens with some tomatoes, cucumbers, olive oil, lemon, salt + pepper. If it wasn't so late when I was making these I would have made a tahini dressing to pour on top as well.

I'm gonna remember that line, although I don't know if you can have too much falafel! You're right, homemade is so easy and always yummy. Yours look perfect!
Ooh, tasty! I made some falafel for me and my man yesterday. I was meaning to blog about it but my camera batteries died. Yours look really lovely.
That looks gorgeous. My favorite way to eat falafel: in non-sandwich form!
atxvegn....you are right you can't have too much falafel!
emmie..same thing happened to me last week..i have at least new dishes to remake because of a dead camera.
bazu..thanks! it's my favorite way as well..it also makes me feel better about eating fried food when paired with a healthy salad.
Mmm note to self, make falafel!
I put recipes on the fridge, too. It's a good way to remind myself that I need to try new food.
Too much falafel? Impossible! It looks very pretty there. I also never make it because I don't have a food processor! I should get one just for it though, as you've reminded me how much I miss it.
ah yes, yours looks yummy, rarely am i lazy in the kitchen but this time i was and my falafel came out of a a box! i know, the heresy. next time it's defitely being made from scratch.

Your falafel looks really good! I need to start making it from scratch because the box mix just isn't doing it for me anymore.
